Mr. Alan Hoops is the Director of Environment & Design for the City of Madison.
From 1979-1980 Alan attended the University of Cincinnati studying Pre-Architecture. From 1981-1985 he attended Mississippi State University where he received his Bachelor of Landscape Architecture degree.
Alan’s career with the city of Madison began in May of 2003 when he was named Director of Community Development. Alan has the distinction of being the first Landscape Architect in Mississippi to serve in that capacity.
In 2014 Alan was named to his current position of Director of Environment & Design for the City of Madison.
Throughout Alan’s career, he has worked on major design projects like higher education, church sites, medical facilities, shopping, municipal, commercial, and residential developments. He has worked for the past 17 years to help the Mayor and Aldermen achieve their vision for Madison the City.
Alan updated our club on projects that have been completed recently in the City of Madison, projects currently under construction, and possible new developments on current undeveloped land.
