Marceline R. (Dick) Largel passed away on Friday, May 6, 2022, in his home in Madison, MS.

Dick was an enthusiastic member of the Madison Lions Club, having been a member for over 16 years. Dick was the organizer of our annual Chick-N-Go fund raiser for the club. His skills showed due to his long career in food service for Morrison’s Cafeterias, eventually retiring from his position as Regional Vice President.

Dick’s involvement with the Madison Lions Club from his active recruiting of new members, and took an active role in the Boy’s Leadership Program. He received awards, which included the Melvin Jones Fellow award from the Lions Clubs International Foundation 2011-2012, Lion of the Year Outstanding Service award for 2010-2011, shortly before his death he was awarded a special Madison Lions Club Lion of the Decade 2012-2022. Soon after his death he received a citation signed by the Lions Clubs International President for Service, the fourth highest honor in Lions Clubs International.

Dick was an avid outdoorsman, enjoying hunting, fishing and golf. He was proud of his Latin heritage and enjoyed a trip to Spain with his wife, Kay, and visiting Cuba with his good friend, Lion John Kirk. He loved a party with Latin music with many friends and fabulous food. Dick’s passion was people, engaging with everyone he met and enjoying lasting friendships with people from all walks of life. He truly never met a stranger.
