Dick Largel Day

Dick Largel is one of best examples of being a Lion….HE SERVES!  Dick participates in our Madison Lions Club board meetings and clubs meetings when he is able.  It doesn’t take long to see that Dick loves being a Lion, especially our club.

His big focus for several years is the planning and execution of our annual Chick-N-Go Fund Raiser.  Dick developed a three-ring binder of all that is involved in this large project.  From the items and quantities of ingredients for the secret VooDoo sauce, the purchasing of the chicken halves and the items needed to complete each sold take-out box.

This past year Dick made it know to our club that he has developed some health issues that need his undivided attention.  Therefore, it was time for him to pass this chairmanship for the Chick-N-Go to someone else.

Some of our club members did not know that Dick’s dad was from Cuba and his mother from Spain.  Dick loves to travel to Cuba and rekindle memories.  His last trip there he took Lion John Kirk with him.  The pictures Dick loves to show us show the pure enjoyment he and John had seeing beautiful Cuba.

On February 8, 2022, our club meeting was dedicated to honoring Dick Largel.  Club members told funny and sad stories about Dick.  We all laughed and had tears in our eyes with Dick.

Dick, you are loved by all of our club members and we pray the medications are providing you a better quality of life.
