December 10, 2019, at St. Columbs Episcopal Church in Ridgeland, MS, was a special night to remember. It was our annual Christmas Party. What separates this year’s event from previous years was we invited members of our Metro Leos, and their parents, past District 30-S Governor Carl Nelig and his wife Dorothy, current District Governor Larry de Leon and next year’s incoming District Governor Randy Davis.
The food members and Leos brought was incredible. Each dish was unique and very tasty.
President Betsy Landers had four of her french horn students to perform Christmas Carols during the dinner. All four are members of the MS All-State Lions Band. And, all four are members of the Metro Leos! Wonderful music for our entertainment.
The Melvin Jones Award is a high compliment to any Lions Club member. This night the award was presented to Joe Forsythe. Well deserving, Joe.
President Betsy Landers presented to the Metro Leos their framed charter as Leos. District Governor, Larry De Leon, complimented them, expecting to see ahd hear about wonderful projects they will complete in the future. Also, he mentioned they can continue to be a part of Lions International in college and the remainder fo their life.
The final presentation of the night was District Governor, Larry De Leon, presenting $100 to the Metro Leos for seed money for future projects.
Our Madison Lions Club is so proud of each Metro Leo and the great future they hold for the area, the state and beyond.
