Greg Palmer, District Governor 30-S, Charles Cruithards, Past District Governor 30-S and Betsy Landers, member at the Madison Lions Club attended the 4th of July Celebration with the Sumrall Lions Club on Monday, July 4, 2022.

What a well planned event by these great Lions! The day began with a 5k run at 7 am, followed by a 20-minute parade. District 30-S Governor, Greg Palmer, was position behind Uncle Sam in the parade. Past District Governor 30-S, Charles Cruithards was in the vehicle right behind. Winding thru the area subdivision, the citizens of Sumrall were lined up on both sides of the street, hoping for some candy to be thrown their way.

After the parade, people gathered at the Lions Park for children rides, vendor tents with goods to sell, corn hole competition and hamburgers and hotdogs.

The afternoon featured two soloists from the area. An auction was held bidding on some great items. The final event was fireworks for all to enjoy.

The 4th of July Celebration is the largest fund raiser for the Sumrall Lions Club.

Job well done.
