On September 1, 2022, District Governor, Greg Palmer, meet with the Florence Lions Club for their evening meeting. I have been with this wonderful group of Lions before and each time have been blessed to have been with them.
This particular time was my “official visit” to the club as District Governor. I found out there were three visitors meeting with us that night. Following the club meeting one of them asked for an application form to complete and return with her dues check. What a wonderful way to end the evening.
The image at the top of this post is Sydney Levitt, a senior at Florence High school receiving a $500 scholarship check from Club President, Talley Neely, to attend Hinds Community College Nursing School in the fall.
The first image below has (l-r) Sammy Ainsworth, Treasurer, Roger Clapp, Talley Neely, Club President, District Governor, Greg Palmer, Secretary Nancy Booth, and Barbara Neely.
The second image is two of the three visitors, Nimfa and Leon Jones. Leon spoke to the club about his time as a Cadet at West Point and the incredible work he has done in the area of communications for our country. I am hopeful the two of them will be interested in joining this wonderful club in the near future.
