March 7, 2020, is the date at Belhaven Performing Arts Center at 7:00 pm.  Four high school French Horn students are taking the stage with the MS Community Symphonic Band for the first time.  Ann Carraway Caruthers, Hannah Lando, Cooper Giles, and Sarah Ross will perform David Miller’s, Rondo for Horns.  They will be accompanied by the MS Community Symphonic Band.

Three of the four players are taking private lessons from Betsy Landers, President of the Madison Lions Club.  Also, they are all charter members and officers of the newly formed Metro Leos Club, associated with Lions Clubs International, and have all be selected as members of the 2020 MS Lions All-State Band.

For over 60 years the MS Lions All-State Band has participated in the Lions Club International Convention Parade.  This convention is held in a different country every year and most recently in Milan, Italy.  This band has won the International Championship several years as the top band for that event.

Since this summer’s Lions Club International Convention will be in Singapore, the band will instead travel to Hawaii.  During their time there, they will perform a concert at the U.S.S. Arizona in Pearl Harbor and march in a special Fourth of July parade competition.

The talent of these four musicians is amazing.  Each of them is dedicated to being the best horn player possible.  Their first performance for the Madison Lions Club was the 2019 Christmas Party, performing Christmas carols during the dinner.  Everyone was impressed with their talent and wants to invite them to our 2020 Christmas Party for an encore performance!

The MCSB and the Metro Leos French Horn quartet invite you to check them out at the March concert.  You will not be disappointed.  Instead, you will be proud of the way they represent their schools, Metro Leos and the state of MS.
